Graduated in Medicine and specialized in Anesthesia and Resuscitation and in Pain Therapy, he served as Director of the Anesthesia, Resuscitation, Pain Therapy, and Palliative Care Service at the Cancer Research and Treatment Institute in Candiolo (Turin), of which he is now Emeritus Head and Consultant in Pain Therapy. He is a member of the Interdisciplinary Pain Study Group at the Italian Society of Anesthesia, Analgesia, Resuscitation, and Intensive Care (SIAARTI). Trainer and supervisor for courses in pain therapy and palliative care.
