Sports traumatology is a continuously evolving medical field where early recognition and appropriate management of conditions can make a significant difference in an athlete's recovery pathway, whether professional or recreational. This course addresses two topics of great relevance: bone edema and clinical ultrasound, with a practical focus oriented to the daily needs of the specialists involved.

Bone edema does not represent a single pathological entity, but a spectrum of clinical conditions ranging from functional overload to traumatic injuries, avascular necrosis, and metabolic bone alterations. Familiarity with the most common presentations — each with its characteristic patterns — enables the differential diagnosis that is essential for guiding the therapeutic approach.

Clinical ultrasound in the traumatological field, meanwhile, is an increasingly common outpatient tool, similarly to what has occurred in fields such as gynecology or cardiology. Its particular strength lies in its versatility, serving depending on the need either as a diagnostic refinement tool or as support for infiltration therapy.
