Ultrasound-guided infiltration is a technique of fundamental importance for today’s trauma specialist: it allows drugs to be placed with extremely high precision and minimal invasiveness in the necessary doses and concentrations to treat a specific condition, when indicated. Its proven efficacy \u2014 superior in numerous sites compared to landmark-based injections \u2014 and the increasing availability of portable and pocket-sized ultrasound devices make this technique both highly effective and accessible to all practitioners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On its own, however, it remains a purely technical act. The first consideration is whether it is truly necessary in the specific case; this is followed by planning and then execution of the therapeutic procedure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The course aims to provide the essential decision-making and technical foundations for ultrasound-guided infiltration therapy in the musculoskeletal field, with particular focus on the lower limb. For this reason, it begins with the topics of the different types of available drugs and the necessary equipment \u2014 two elements that must be consciously selected on a case-by-case basis. The relevant scanning approaches for each site will be demonstrated live, with exercises designed to help participants identify them effectively across different patient types. Practical infiltration exercises on an animal model will also be included to simulate the planning and execution of the therapeutic procedure, following the well-received format of the previous edition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
